MobiKwik partners with ecommerce players to empower their bill payment services

Monday 22 June 2020 13:54 CET | News

India-based mobile payments platform MobiKwik has partnered with several ecommerce platforms to help them offer bill payment services on their own platforms.

According to CNBC, India-based consumers are increasingly making their bill payments online amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, to accommodate to this trend, MobiKwik has bundled its mobile bill payments offering into a separate product for the benefit of ecommerce players such as Flipkart, ixigo, Snapdeal, Confirmtkt, and others.

Moreover, the feature will enable users of these platforms to make utility bill payments including phone services and electricity bills, from the app directly, while MobiKwik and the ecommerce platforms will share revenue for every transaction made. Besides, the company stated that it has plans to roll out its 'Biller Stack' on other sites too.

Overall, due to the coronavirus pandemic, online platforms are developing their bill payments capabilities, as regular travel and non-essential business struggle to keep customers engaged and generate revenue from alternate streams, CNBC reported.
