MobiKash Afrika rolls out mobile banking platform in Kenya

Kenyan mobile commerce services provider MobiKash Afrika has launched its mobilebanking platform that is set to provide customers with mobile money transfer, mobile banking and m-payment services, media outlet nation.co.ke reports.

According to the source, the company is planning to tap the unbanked population in Kenya, as less than 30 percent of the local have access to formal banking services. MobiKash is targeting 300,000 subscribers within the first six months of operation and a network of 3000 agents.

Moreover, the source reports that the platform is set to work across all Kenyas four GSM networks (Safaricom, Airtel, Orange, and Yu) and across participating banks.
