MasterCard, BNI, Telkomsel, Equity Life to provide mPOS services in Indonesia

MasterCard has joined forces with financial institution Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) and Indonesian telecommunications provider Telkomsel to provide mobile point-of-sales (mPOS) payment services to insurance company Equity Life Indonesia.

The launch in Indonesia comes close on the heels of a similar mPOS offerings launched across Asia/Pacific including in Vietnam, the Philippines, Myanmar, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Malaysia. Currently, MasterCard’s mPOS services can be used in around 63 countries with approximately 2 million merchants worldwide.

In recent news, MasterCard has entered a strategic partnership with Vietnam-based financial institution Sacombank.
