M-payments in Nigeria reach USD 1.7 bln - report

The value of mobile money payment as of May 2014 has reached USD 1.7 billion (N271 billion) for 25 million transactions in Nigeria, according to former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Deputy Governor Mr. Tunde Lemo.

The number shows an increase in mobile money transaction in comparison with the figure posted in August 2013, which was N10.1 billion (USD 61.9 million) for 1.6 million transactions.
