LogicaCMG is selected by Atheer Telecommunications Iraq to deploy Next Generation Messaging solution

LogicaCMG now supplies Next Generation Messaging to two of the three GSM service providers in Iraq. Under the terms of the agreement Atheer Telecommunications will deploy LogicaCMGs Next Generation Messaging infrastructure enabling it to offer high quality messaging services, starting with Short Messaging Services, as it launches its GSM services to its corporate and individual customers. LogicaCMG won the contract after intensive work with MTC Kuwait. Atheer Telecommunications, part of the MTC group of companies, one of the largest mobile operators in the Middle East, is a consortium of MTC and DTC. The global leadership position of LogicaCMG in the messaging infrastructure marketplace and its experience of developing and deploying advanced messaging technologies for operators across the globe played a key part in Atheer Telecommunications selecting the company. The LogicaCMG Next Generation Messaging solution, based on proven technology from LogicaCMG, allows Atheer Telecommunications to share common management, provisioning and network interfaces across different service bearers to ensure optimum cost efficiency of its messaging infrastructure by maintaining low operational costs and capital expenditure. Additionally the architecture allows for unparalleled capacity growth while ensuring zero downtime for revenue generating messaging services. In the future, the Next Generation Messaging solution will also allow Atheer Telecommunications to seamlessly incorporate other messaging services such as Instant Messaging and TV voting.
