Digital wallet service LINE Pay has added Apple Pay support in Japan.

The company stated that customers can use both their iPhone and Apple Watch to pay for items with their pre-charged LINE Pay balance. Apple Pay can be set up in the mobile app in the LINE Pay section and used like regular Apple Pay with Touch ID or Face ID.

Customers will be issued a virtual Visa LINE Pay prepaid card when they sign up for Apple Pay, which can also be used for online purchases. Customers will need a LINE Pay account to get a prepaid card issued.
