Intec Release latest version of its InterconnecT Optimized Routing

Thursday 16 October 2003 08:38 CET | News

Intec Telecom Systems has launched its latest version of InterconnecT Optimised RoutingInterconnecT (OR).

Designed for any telecoms network environment, InterconnecT OR optimises an operator?s margins through tighter control of costs and revenues when trading international traffic minutes. InterconnecT OR is fully integrated with Intecs InterconnecT billing system, supporting the interchange of carrier rates, customer prices and rated summary data. Introducing new routes and services to a network or changing interconnect partners adds complexity to a range of processes across an operators business environment. Switch reconfiguration is complex and can have serious business and customer satisfaction consequences if not implemented properly. Yet efficient routing is critical in deciding how traffic leaves the network, which in turn determines interconnect costs and therefore the operator?s profit margin. InterconnecT OR simplifies matters by providing a complete and integrated solution to managing the entire routing process. The latest version of InterconnecT Optimised Routing (OR) is comprised of modules that can be packaged in different ways depending on the operators specific needs: - InterconnecT OR Manager - Manages rates and generates wholesale business performance reports to help benchmark overall performance and target routing inefficiencies - InterconnecT OR Selector - Determines an optimised routing plan and destination breakout to improve responsiveness and minimise routing costs - InterconnecT OR Trader - Supports the buying and selling of minutes to help manage operating margin as your cost base and traffic fluctuates - InterconnecT OR Programmer - Programs routing instructions in the network elements to increase productivity by enabling routing changes more frequently - InterconnecT OR Monitor - Produces near real-time carrier quality and traffic volume metrics to improve the quality of the carrier selection decisions and help deliver on customer commitments, i.e. Service Level Agreements - Combined, InterconnecT ORs modules provide many business benefits for the user, including the potential to reduce incoming interconnect bills by up to 10% while increasing internal productivity by up to 60%. Other benefits include: - Enhanced ability to trade in international wholesale minutes - Accurate financial analysis to benchmark wholesale business performance - Automated routing optimisation in the network for international/national traffic to minimise costs - Near real-time alarms to monitor and fine tune routing efficiency The rollout of InterconnecT OR will be assisted by a strategic partnership agreement between Intec and Telmate APS, a company created in 2002 following its acquisition of the routing software products from Ericsson. The staff employed at Telmate have many years? experience in the deployment of optimised routing solutions to a global customer base. This includes an extensive knowledge base of the optimised routing process in the industry as well as the impact it can have on the network.
