Indian Icici Bank introduces iMobile, a mobile banking platform for mobile phones. As such, customers can make all internet banking transactions via their mobile phones. iMobile has been developed by mobile phone-based transaction technology provider C-SAMs and is available for Icici Banks customers worldwide.

iMobile provides over 40 different services among which banking, fund transfer (within Icici and outside Icici Bank ), credit card services, bill payments, mobile recharge, apply now services, locator services. iMobile works on almost all types of phones and across all GSM networks.  To ensure the security of mobile phone transactions and prevent unauthorized use of the service, customers will be required to enter a 4-digit PIN code to access the Mobile Banking Application. The application can be downloaded by sending an SMS or via an activation WAP link or directly from the bank’s website.  “The launch of iMobile is very timely, as it will enable ICICI BANK to go beyond ATM and PC based banking, reaching out to the rapidly growing mobile phone users to not only extend their branch services but also develop a deeper customer relationship,” comments Mr. Mehul Desai, Chief Operating Officer of the Oak Brook, Illinois-based C-SAM, Inc. Furthermore, Chandrashekar Rao, Vice President of Deployments at C-SAM added that, “with additional services beyond mobile banking, and the ability to enable transactions over NFC, C-SAM’s platform will ensure that ICICI BANK can continue to scale the solution, providing their customers with a single and secure mobile interface for remote as well as proximity transactions”.
