Hong Leong rolls out payment system via smartphones

Friday 3 April 2015 08:06 CET | News

Malaysia-based financial institution Hong Leong Bank (HLB) has unveiled a mobile service that enables payment from personal to merchant accounts.

The PEx+ service, an extension of HLB’s Connect Mobile application, is accessible via smartphones. The PEx+ service does not require merchants to rent credit card terminals as the system can be used on any smartphone.

Hong Leong bank account holders have to select the PEx+ function on the Connect Mobile application home screen, input their password and scan the merchant’s QR code to perform the purchase transaction.
