Fibank launches Google Pay option

Tuesday 4 May 2021 09:24 CET | News

Bulgarian-based First Investment Bank (Fibank) had announced offering its customers the option of using their bank-issued Mastercard debit or credit cards for Google Pay.

Customers with Android smartphones (with Lollipop version 5.0 or higher) can now make contactless payments at points of sale (POS) in physical stores, in-app purchases with Android apps or card payments at online retailers that accept Google Pay. To start using this payment option, customers must download the My Fibank app and add their card to Google Pay. Information about added cards is securely stored and not shared with merchants. Payments work by unlocking an NFC-enabled smartphone and holding it up to the contactless reader at the checkout. The service is available wherever the Google Pay icon or the contactless payment icon is displayed.
