EZ-Link launches NFC mobile app for ez-link card top-ups

Monday 9 December 2013 08:20 CET | News

Singapore-based card issuer EZ-Link has launched a mobile application for the topping up of ez-link cards using near field communication (NFC) technology.

Known as My EZ-Link Mobile, the app transforms NFC handsets into portable personal top-up devices, to enable on-the-go reloading of ez-link cards. The top-up process is cashless, allowing users to pay with their credit or debit cards, with MasterCard as the preferred card.

Besides the top-up functionality, My EZ-Link Mobile also presents other features such as card transaction history viewing of up to the last 30 transactions, card balance viewing, management of multiple ez-link cards and personalisation of the app.

Wirecard, a German provider of electronic payment and risk management services, is one of EZ-Links partners in the development of My EZ-Link Mobile. Other partners for My EZ-Link Mobile include Samsung, McAfee and Food Junction.

EZ-Link is managing Singapores Stored Value Smart Card System for payments on public buses and Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) trains. In addition to public transport, the EZ-Link card is accepted at a network of acceptance points across the country including retail, private transport, Electronic Road Pricing and Electronic Payment System (EPS) in car parks.

In recent news, Wirecard has joined the African Airlines Association (AFRAA) partner program as a full member.
