EPC commissions Sopra Steria to take over SRTP accreditation

Tuesday 21 September 2021 13:26 CET | News

The European Payments Council (EPC) has commissioned digital transformation consultancy provider Sopra Steria, together with its subsidiary Galitt, to carry out the accreditation of applicants who want to use the new SEPA Request-to-Pay (SRTP) procedure.

The European standard for electronic payment requests, SRTP, was officially launched in Europe in June 2021. SRTP enables the automated assignment of invoices to a payment and can trigger payments directly from the bank account. Companies can include additional information in the payment request, for example a payment term, information on returns or warranty information.

The EPC is using Sopra Steria and its subsidiary Galitt, which specialises in payment transactions, as a homologation agency, meaning they will act as an admissions office. Sopra Steria will check whether applicants meet the necessary technical requirements and whether the companies using them comply with the rules.
