Chunghwa Telecom NFC TSM system receives Visa certification

Taiwan-based mobile network operator Chunghwa Telecom (CHT) has received a security certification from Visa for its NFC trusted service manager (TSM) system and become a Visa approved vendor to provide mobile Visa credit card payment services on NFC-enabled smartphones in the Taiwan market.

The certification allows users to download Visa credit card information and electronic payment applications onto NFC-enabled smartphones through the TSM system to perform mobile payments. Mobile Visa credit card payments can be made at approximately 30,000 retail stores around Taiwan and overseas Visa payWave retail stores.

CHT plans to form a strategic partnership with local banks to promote mobile Visa credit card payment services based on its TSM system.
