AUB's PayMate introduces Mastercard QR code payments for its merchants

Tuesday 2 November 2021 14:31 CET | News

Philippines-based Asia United Bank (AUB) has made it easier for PayMate merchants to handle Mastercard transactions via QR code technology, eliminating handling costs with POS and card terminals.

PayMate is AUB’s all-in-one digital payment acceptance product that allows merchants to process digital payments made from both local and international e-wallets, cards, and banks.

With the latest addition, clients can use their smartphones to scan de card QR code displayed on the merchant’s store and will be directed to a secure AUB PayMate checkout website to complete the transaction. Sellers can also view the payment status in real-time through their PayMate app.

The introduction of QR code payments targets micro, small, and medium companies that cannot introduce Mastercard payment options due to the high costs with card terminals and POS.
