Apple Pay now available at Standard Bank

Monday 13 December 2021 13:34 CET | News

Standard Bank, one of the largest bank groups in Africa, has introduced Apple Pay as an alternative payment method for its clients in South Africa.

The bank makes efforts to digitalise the sector and has welcomed Apple’s mobile payment method and digital wallet service after similar institutions like Discovery Bank, Absa, and Nedbank made Apple Pay available earlier in 2021.

According to Standard Bank officials, Apple Pay provides a safe, secure, and private way to make online and offline payments due to the American’s tech provider high security standards that include face ID, touch ID, one-time unique dynamic security code or device passcode.

Apple Pay is accepted at grocery stores, restaurants, pharmacies, and coffee shops, among other places and clients can make direct payments using their Apple Watches or iPhones.
