Canadian e-commerce and m-commerce services provider AnywhereCommerce has signed an agreement to provide mobile point-of-sale (mPOS) technology to global payment processing services provider Moneris Solutions.

Under the terms of the agreement, select Moneris merchants can accept credit, debit and gift card payments on smartphones and tablets through AnywhereCommerce’s patented line of audio-jack attachable wireless appliances.

AnywhereCommerce mobile commerce solutions employ patented audio-jack attachable technology and encryption that enables any smartphone, tablet, or mobile device to be transformed into a mobile point-of-sale terminal.

Its lineup consists of appliances that support a number of card-based payment presentation methods, including magstripe debit, credit, gift card as well as EMV chip and PIN card transactions.

AnywhereCommerce provides a global suite of hardware, software and gateway services for online and mobile, card-present credit, debit, Chip (PIN and signature) and NFC transactions.

Moneris provides credit, debit, wireless and online payment services via approximately 350,000 merchant locations and processes around 2 billion transactions annually. Via its Ernex division, Moneris provides electronic loyalty and gift card programs.

In recent news, AnywhereCommerce has entered a strategic partnership with Prosa, a merchant services provider serving Mexico and other markets throughout the region, to provide an end-to-end mobile payment solution, which includes acceptance devices, software applications and gateway services to support Prosas deployment of mobile point-of-sale (mPOS) services.
