Alibaba adds m-payment option for cab rides

Friday 31 January 2014 08:46 CET | News

Chinese e-commerce provider Alibaba has introduced a feature in its Alipay Wallet, the mobile e-wallet app that lets users hail taxis on Kuaidi Dache, the Hangzhou-based on-demand transportation app.

The solution is accessible when users press the ‘Explore’ tab in the Alipay Wallet apps dock. At the bottom, a bar bearing a yellow taxi icon appears. Pressing the bar lets users input their location, intended destination, and call for a cab.

In recent news, Alibaba has banned all Bitcoin payments and Bitcoin-related products on its online shopping websites.
