Acleda Bank rolls out Unity mobile banking service in Cambodia

Cambodian financial services company Acleda Bank has rolled out its new Unity mobile phone banking service. The latter is available in both English and Khmer language, allowing consumers to manage their daily banking transactions via their handsets.

Unity allows customers to bank either via text message (SMS), Mobile Browser/WAP or through a dedicated downloadable application interface, according their needs. Users can view their account balances, obtain a mini-statement, transfer between their accounts, make payments to other people, carry out bill payments and top-up their mobile phones.

Acleda Bank has been active in the Cambodian financial services landscape for 17 years. As at the end of June 2010, its loan portfolio was worth an estimated USD 615 million, with total assets in excess of USD 1 billion.
