Walmart removed products from Google Express, Google Shopping Actions

Walmart has removed its products from Google Express and Google Shopping Actions, two of its retail initiatives.

Walmart brought its products to the Google Express shopping platform in 2017. In March 2018, Google launched Shopping Actions and the US retailer was among its partners for the programme. The initiative was aimed to help retailers make sales across channels by helping their products surface on all devices, creating a universal shopping cart, and allowing consumers to link customer loyalty accounts through Google.

Due to this announcement, Google will no longer have Walmarts product selection and may lose access to Walmart shoppers purchase histories.

Leaving Google Express also eliminates Walmart’s presence in Googles voice shopping ecosystem. The two companies are maintaining their collaboration across other businesses, including Google Ads.
