Global online marketplace for pre-loved fashion, Vestiaire Collective, has announced the acquisition of US-based Tradesy, a company focused on the fashion resale industry.

Both companies were founded in 2009, aiming to turn the fashion industry into a sustainable one. The acquisition will accelerate Vestiaire’s growth of the circular fashion economy and will deliver high-quality customer experience to global sellers and buyers.

The partnership allows the ecommerce platforms and marketplaces to increase the size and reach of their peer-to-peer marketplaces, which will directly benefit buyers and sellers. The combined companies will count for a membership base of over 23 million, with more than 5 million items, and a Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) of over USD 1 billion.

Moreover, both Vestiaire and Tradesy will access expanded markets abroad, opening their business to new geographies, while scaling their sales of pre-owned luxury fashion goods.
