US-based ride-hailing operator Uber has partnered up with Marqeta, Mastercard, and Branch to launch Uber Pro Card.

The Uber Pro Card is an enhanced loyalty and payments experience, designed to offer drivers and couriers customised perks including, but not limited to, up to 10% cashback on gas and up to 12% on EV charging, with earnings being automatically deposited into the users’ accounts after each trip, no additional charges being applied.

Uber has partnered up with Marqeta, Mastercard, and Branch to launch Uber Pro Card.

Uber Pro Card features

An expansion of the Uber Pro driver loyalty programme, the Uber Pro Card offers drivers up to 10% cashback on gas purchases when they achieve Diamond status as an Uber Pro driver. Designed to enable drivers and couriers to keep more of what they earn, the card comes with a Branch powered business checking account, with those who sign up for the card having the option of their earnings being automatically deposited into their Uber Pro Card account. The Backup Balance feature allows drivers and couriers access up to USD 150 if needed.

The Uber Pro Card will be available via mobile wallets and will enable contactless payments; drivers and couriers will be able to track earnings, transfer money to other bank accounts, earn rewards, and manage savings.

A Debit Mastercard Business Card, the Uber Pro Card offers increased purchasing flexibility alongside built-in tools and benefits that help users better manage cash flow, record keeping, and safeguard devices. These benefits comprise access to Mastercard Easy Savings, a rebate programme to reward small business owners when spending, Mastercard Receipt Management, as well as advanced security features such as Mastercard ID Theft Protection, and 24/7/365 Global Emergency Services.

Stride will also be included as part of the Uber Pro Card offering, a portable benefits platform designed for independent workers that enables users to access simple and affordable coverage plans ranging from health, dental, and vision. Mastercard and Stride announced their partnership to offer a better choice of benefits options to independent workers in October 2020.

Other Uber features that have been announced in 2022 include Upfront Fares, a service that allows drivers to see how much they will earn, as well as their destination, before accepting a trip.
