Quarantine drives up online shopping in Brazil – study

Ecommerce market intelligence company Compre & Confie and the Brazilian E-Commerce Association have issued a study revealing ecommerce has risen during quarantine.The conclusions taken by the two authorities on ecommerce were taken after comparing February/March shopping in 2019 and 2020. Supermarket shopping was up 80% year-on-year, while sales of health products soared by 111%, and beauty and toiletry item sales climbed 83%. Conversely, sales plummeted when it comes to photo and video cameras and drones, down 62%, video games, down 37%, electronics, down 29%, and automobiles, down 20%.

According to the Brazilian E-Commerce Association, the industry is already concerned over logistics and measures that might restrict delivery in cities.
