Canada-based company Nextech AR that specialises in augmented reality (AR) technologies has announced partnerships with ecommerce aggregators, using the company’s Threeedy.ai AR solution.

More than 10 ecommerce aggregators that count for approximately 400,000 ecommerce sites use the company’s Threedy.ai solution and will partner with Asian-based companies to expand Nextech’s 3D AR model creation and development.

The technology behind Threedy.ai involves using artificial intelligence (AI) to help build 3D models from simple 2D photos at scale for ecommerce websites and marketing purposes. As the company’s CEO suggests, the Asian expansion represents an opportunity to adopt 3D models and AR in ecommerce on a larger scale and help build a new norm in ecommerce, digital advertising, and other fields.

According to a Statista study cited in the company press release, Asia is the fastest growing and largest ecommerce B2C market in the world. Some of the ecommerce aggregators with which Nextech AR partnered include Visolab (Japan), Innolab (Australia) and Shopline (SEA). The Canadian technology provider is already present in North America and benefits from a rapidly growing customer base.
