Magento adds Yapital as a plug-in for its Community Platform

Thursday 28 November 2013 09:58 CET | News

E-commerce platform Magento has entered into an agreement with electronic money institution Yapital to enable online-merchants working with the Magento Community Platform to integrate the latter as a means of payment.

This is available due to a plug-in, which can be downloaded from the Magento Connect marketplace. For customers, it will be possible to pay either with their smartphones, by scanning a QR-code with their Yapital App and confirming the purchase, or by entering their Yapital credentials at the online checkout. The Yapital integration plug-in is available in both German and English.

The target groups of the e-commerce software company Magento are a large share of small and medium sized merchants, as well as multi-channel and online-merchants with operations on a global scale.

Yapital is an European cashless cross-channel payment service across all channels including stationary, mobile and online as well as via invoice. Yapital was founded in 2011 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Otto-Group. Yapital is licensed as an electronic money institution in Luxembourg.

In recent news, Yapital and German provider of e-commerce solutions OXID eSales have joined forces to allow the latter’s business customers to integrate the new Yapital cross-channel payment system into their payment methods using a plug-in.
