Italy-based ecommerce platform Commerce Layer has raised a Series A of USD 6 million to expand in more geographies and fit the needs of its customers.

According to Tech Crunch, the funding is led by Benchmark Capital, with participation from Mango Capital, DAXN, PrimeSet, SV Angel, and NVInvestments. Commerce Layer has an API-based system that allows multiple SKUs, prices, and inventory data to help its customers sell in any currency, with distributed inventory models and global shipping, be it across a site or an app.

Moreover, customers of Commerce Layer include Chilly’s (the fashionable water bottle company), Au Depart, Richard Ginori, and more, giving the company the flexibility to shape what it builds next. For example, if a customer wants an integration with Farfetch, the high-end fashion marketplace, Commerce Layer is building that to subsequently offer it as an option to others, a company’s official reported.
