India: postal department strikes deal with e-tailers

The Indian department of posts has struck agreements with online retailers to offer delivery services, thehindu.com reports.

Amazon, Flipkart, Shopping Zone India and Naaptol are among the online retailers which will secure shipping services from the postal department.

A postal department official, cited by the source, has claimed that 80% of the products ordered online reach customers via its shipping services.

The postal department now handles nearly 28,000 parcels daily.
