Online group vendor Groupon has acquired Kima Labs, a US-based mobile shopping start-up, the developer of TapBuy mobile payment application and mobile barcode reading application Barcode Hero.

The financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed yet. As part of the agreement, starting February 2012, Barcode Hero will be closed and its iPhone application will no longer be available to download. Current users of the application will be allowed to download their data until March 2012. The TapBuy application will also be shut down, according to TechCrunch.

TapBuy offers daily deals and processes transactions using credit card information provided by users.

In related news, Groupon has also bought mobile start-up Hyperpublic, which provides geo-location technology.

Kima Labs was founded by Amazon.com veterans Blake Scholl and Jason Crawford.

Most recently, Groupon acquired e-commerce startup Adku.
