Facebook has decided to invest in its retail and e-commerce sales channel in the MENA region and position Facebook as the preferred media platform among senior executives in the industry.

For this purpose, Facebook has appointed Narain Jashanmal as Client Partner, retail and e-commerce in the region.

According to the new Client Partner, cited by online media outlet Zawya, Facebook in the MENA region has seen commendable growth in the past years, which has been possible due to the strong value proposition it offers its customers in all sectors and across all the main markets.

The same source cites Jonathan Labin, head of Facebook for Middle East, Africa and Pakistan, who also mentions that the MENA region continues to develop its retail and e-commerce capabilities.

Founded in 2004, Facebooks mission is to make the world more open and connected. People use Facebook to stay connected with friends and family, to discover whats going on in the world, and to share and express what matters to them. As of December 2012, Facebook had more than a billion monthly active users. Almost 82% of its monthly active users are outside the US and Canada.
