FAB provides payment processing services to over 27,000 merchants across the UAE, and this partnership aims to enable Alipay’s 900 million Chinese users to pay at a variety of retailers in the UAE, streamlining the payment experience.
According to Dubai Forum, more than 200,000 Chinese people reside in the UAE, and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi expects 600,000 Chinese tourists to visit the emirate by 2021.
Earlier in 2020, WorldRemit has also announced a partnership with Alipay, enabling consumers to use the WorldRemit app or website for cross-border remittances to the Alipay app.
