Monday 5 January 2015 10:38 CET | News

The EU has issued new VAT-related rules concerning the electronic commerce ecosystem, e-commercefacts.com reports.

Via the new regulation, also known as ‘Amazon tax’, each order made online in the EU will be more expensive due to added VAT tax, and it will affect e-tailers because they will have higher prices per items.

The EU expects an increase of EUR 3,000 million in the income derived from the application of this legislation. It is estimated that the measure will affect more than 250,000 online businesses in Europe.
