Amazon drops out Dash buttons

Monday 4 March 2019 00:29 CET | News

Amazon has stopped selling its Dash buttons due to the fact that shoppers use other methods to buy products, according to BBC.

The plastic Dash buttons were launched in 2015 and were designed to be pressed to reorder specific products on Amazon. People could stick the buttons on the washing machine or in the bathroom cupboard, and press the button when their products were running out. The button, connected to the home Wi-Fi, would then place an order on Amazon.

According to BBC, Amazon said that product subscriptions and automatic reordering had grown in popularity making the buttons unnecessary.
