The results of the survey show that since the last survey in May 2017, the number of online shoppers in Hungary increased by 800,000.
Other key findings:
58% of online shoppers ordered mobile phones and accessories online, 57% ordered clothes and 53% toys and gifts;
ecommerce in Hungary has increased by about 18% in 2017 and currently accounts for 4.5% of the country’s total retail sales;
ecommerce in Hungary was worth 1.65 billion euros in 2017;
Hungarian online shoppers also spent about EUR 1.21 billion at foreign ecommerce websites;
currently, there are about 3.1 million Hungarian people more who have made online orders from abroad (58% of all online shoppers in the country);
51% of the shoppers prefer to pay non-cash, while 19% like to pay with cash.
