Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI), a US-based non-profit hospital system, has entered a definitive agreement with Finnish e-procurement and e-invoicing software company Basware.

Under the terms of the agreement, Basware is set to provide its Accounts Payable automation and e-invoicing solutions to process the approximately two million invoices CHI receives annually. Basware’s solutions, which are set to be implemented in CHI facilities across the US, are expected to speed up the invoice processing.

CHI is set to implement a number of services provided within the Basware Accounts Payable automation and e-invoicing services offerings, including invoice automation with matching capabilities, data analytics, mobile technology, a supplier portal and e-invoicing receiving solutions. Basware Accounts Payable automation is set to be implemented via software-as-a-service (SaaS) on Basware Alusta, a unified cloud-based platform for purchase-to-pay. Additionally, CHI is set to conduct e-invoicing over the Basware Commerce Network, which enables buyers and sellers to transmit e-invoices worldwide.

In recent news, Esa Tihilä, CEO of Basware has been named as co-chair of the European E-Invoicing Service Providers Association (EESPA).
