IDnow has joined an international working group of the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) for the development of European standards for identity verification.

IDnow is a provider of Identity Verification-as-a-Service solutions and a member of the Special Task Force 588, and it will offer the Task Force with insights into the European market. Thus, the company was selected by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) to participate in a new working group on Electronic Signatures and Infrastructures (ESI). The objective of the Task Force is to develop new standards and guidelines for electronic signatures and related trust services.

In addition, the work of the Task Force will contribute to the preparation and publication of the ETSI technical standard 119 461 on ESI by July 2021. These standards can serve as a guide for KYC criteria and for the issuance of electronic identity schemes (eIDs).
