Egypt's Minister of Communications and Information Technology has met with IDEMIA representatives to discuss the company’s investment plans.

These plans include the expansion of its business in Egypt, while facilitating the collaboration in artificial intelligence (AI), relevant applications, and digital identity. IDEMIA is planning to expand its business in Egypt and invest in establishing a centre for shared services in the country. At the same time, Egypt has competitive potentials, including digital skills, competitive cost, investment incentives, and excellent geographical location.

IDEMIA said that the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) is keen on collaborating with major companies specialising in digital transformation and secured infrastructure. Planet Biometrics reports that the ICT Minister requested that IDEMIA increases its export capacity of IT services from Egypt to serve its customers all over the world, and IDEMIA is planning to do so. The two sides also discussed about cooperation in AI and relevant applications, in light of MCIT interest in adopting these technologies and integrating them into the digital system. Egypt Post and IDEMIA agreed on cooperating in digital identity services, based on the citizen fingerprint and ID system.
