Consumers find encryption as a positive measure

A large majority of consumers have declared that they view encryption as positive, a recent study shows.

According to a survey conducted by e-mail data protection company ZixCorp, nearly three-quarters (72%) of respondents chose ‘security,’ while 24% chose ‘privacy’. 4% chose ‘threat.’

But, not everyone is aware of when theyre using encryption. While the majority of respondents (95 percent) said they believe their sensitive information should be encrypted online, only 43 percent said they had used the technology.
