Airbnb users complain of hacked accounts

Monday 6 May 2019 11:11 CET | News

Airbnb users have complained that their accounts had been hacked, finding some holidays unknowingly booked in their name, which cost thousands of pounds.

In addition, other customers say genuine reservations made on the booking site have been cancelled, which left them with nowhere to stay. Also, users confirm they have been locked out of their accounts, meaning that they cant change their password to keep potential fraudsters out.

Some say accounts have been completely deleted, even though the sites reviews system favours users whose profiles show theyre trusted. The Sun has contacted Airbnb about this spate of reports seen on social media, but a response has not been provided yet.
