3-D Secure 2.0 adopted by National Bank of Kuwait in MENA

Friday 29 November 2019 13:23 CET | News

National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) has become the first bank in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to adopt Visa’s 3-D Secure 2.0.

Through this, merchants and issuers are provided with a seamless way to authenticate cardholders for ecommerce transactions before authorising them. 3-D Secure 2.0 is designed to deliver a secure information sharing channel, useful for merchants to send an unprecedented number of transaction details to the issuer. The issuer can authenticate customers with accuracy, without slowing down commerce or requesting a fixed password.

Moreover, NBK’s goal is to provide an integrated banking experience, ensuring it offers products and services that meet its customers’ needs and are complemented by safe and secure payment solutions.
