Samsung Pay, Swipe partner to offer cryptocurrency payment option

Tuesday 5 May 2020 13:19 CET | News

Crypto payments enabler Swipe has announced a partnership with Samsung that allows Samsung Pay users to initiate mobile payments from their cryptocurrency debit card balance.

According to SAMMOBILE.com, the new integration will be available across Europe and the UK allowing users with compatible Galaxy smartphones and smartwatches to link their Swipe card account with their Samsung Pay account. Moreover, the users would be able to make payments at over 50 million locations in the region. Additionally, Swipe’s cryptocurrency debit cards are compatible with Apple Pay and Google Pay, supporting over 30 currencies, including cryptocurrencies, fiat, and stablecoins.

The companies expect that Swipe’s integration with Samsung Pay will facilitate consumers’ paying habits, as they reduced the use of cash and physical cards to maintain social distancing, and plan to expand the partnership to the APAC and SEA regions by the end of 2020.
