Reddit may back away from cryptocurrency

Social media news website Reddit has let go its cryptocurrency engineer, which has risen allegations of the company losing interest in digital currencies.

The elimination of this position has given the indication that the company was backing away from plans to offer its own ‘redditcoin.

In December 2014, the website revealed that it would distribute around 10% of its equity to users via a random lottery, a giveaway planned for the fall of 2015. Now questions arise as to whether or not Reddit will continue developing the notes.
