PlanetWatch measures air quality by using the Algorand’s decentralised blockchain, IoT-enabled sensors and AI-based data analysis and gives citizens incentives to operate air quality sensors and receive tokens for the data streams as a reward. According to an Algorand Foundation representative, the company aims to show the potential of the crowdsourcing approach to air quality monitoring and the PLANETS token.
