Bitcoin Foundation welcomes France as tenth chapter affiliate

The Bitcoin Foundation has added Bitcoin France as the tenth chapter affiliate to join the foundation’s growing international network, reports.

The Foundation has already opened chapter affiliates in Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Mexico, The Netherlands, Romania, and Slovenia.

In August 2014, Michel Spain, Minister of Finance, claimed that France adopts a midway between strict regulations as those issued by China, Japan or Russia and more permissive regulations adopted by countries such as the US, Canada or Israel.

According to the Bitcoin Foundation blog, cited by the source, Bitcoin France will serve as a voice for local media as well as provide Bitcoin education to merchants, consumers, policy-makers and regulatory agencies.

In recent news, the Russian Ministry of Finance has passed verdict on a cryptocurrency bill which bans their use within the country’s borders, reports.
