Zwipe, Watchdata join forces for to biometric payment cards and wearables

Zwipe has teamed up with smartcard manufacturer Watchdata Technologies to develop and launch contactless biometric payment cards and wearables for banks in multiple regions. 

Biometric payment cards are the first project under the agreement, with Zwipe providing key components and technical guidance, Biometric Update reports. Watchdata considers that the partnership with Zwipe to develop the next generation contactless experience aligns with their mission of continuous innovation. By integrating Zwipe Pay ONE into their smart card programme, will help Watchdata to compete and secure future business in this fast-emerging segment. 

Watchdata Technologies is based in China, with international in Singapore, and serves 80 million banking customers in more than 70 countries. Watchdata has extensive operations in China, France, Russia, Brazil, India, Indonesia, South Korea, and Mexico, and the company is certified to produce cards for Visa, Mastercard, and China UnionPay.
