Zwipe choses Fingerprint Cards T-Shape sensor for biometric cards

Thursday 28 February 2019 13:46 CET | News

Zwipe has chosen Fingerprint Cards’ T-Shape sensor for its generation biometric card based on the sensor’s performance and scalability in mass volume production.

The selection highlights Zwipe’s first patent, which describes a ‘post-placement’ method of manufacturing a biometric card that enables industrialised manufacturing techniques, including hot lamination of plastic cards without damaging the biometric sensor. As such, the T-Shape sensor, launched in 2017, is designed to utilise this post-placement production method.

The patent has been granted by the European Patent Office, as well as in the United States, China, South Korea, and Australia. Moreover, Fingerprint Cards’ T-Shape module has been selected for integration in a number of biometric card solutions, including those from IDEMIA and Gemalto.
