Vantik enables free choice of name for Mastercards

Tuesday 9 November 2021 13:36 CET | News

Germany-based PensionTech startup Vantik has announced allowing users to choose the name on their Mastercard, regardless of the information on their ID card.

Vantikcard aims to combine private old-age provision with the trend towards product customisation. According to a Vantik representative, almost two thirds of card users would individualise their Vantikcard if given the option. First names, surnames or nicknames would be chosen most frequently, yet artist, social media names and gamer tags are also popular.

When applying for a card, the name on the ID is also stored, which is also needed for online shopping, since the cardholder's surname and first name are usually required there. With the Vantikcard, the company wants to offer an uncomplicated entry into private retirement provision. With every purchase with the Mastercard users get 1% cashback for their pension. The cashback is automatically invested sustainably until retirement.
