SSP Solutions is continuing its commitment to industry leadership and advocacy by becoming the newest member of the Smart Card Alliance, a multi-industry organization working to accelerate the acceptance of smart card technology.

As a member, SSP-Litronic will play a proactive role in helping the Smart Card Alliance achieve its goals of influencing smart card standards, maintaining a voice in public policy, serving as an educational resource, and providing a forum for discussion on issues surrounding smart cards. For over three decades, SSP-Litronic has advanced communications security and smart card functionality by authoring numerous patents that improve the technology and capability of smart cards. The company is a leading provider of middleware to the Department of Defense and a strong advocate of identity management and privacy control to the commercial enterprise. Some of SSP-Litronics most significant contributions to security technology are in the area of identity management. With expertise in developing card management systems, high assurance smart cards and applets, SSP-Litronic is leveraging Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) technology to offer enterprises an improved method for both physical and logical access control. SSP-Litronics Enterprise Credential Management System (ECMS) was designed to reduce the heavy administrative burden and costs associated with earlier smart card deployments. An integral part of an enterprise identity management structure, ECMS offers a simple, streamlined and economical solution for the issuance and management of PKI-based smart cards and smart IDs. ECMS provides additional return-on-investment by reducing the risks associated with information security breaches and compromise of critical corporate data. ECMS is based on open industry standards, including GlobalPlatform, to ensure interoperability and security throughout enterprise information systems.
