PBS wins international prize

Danish PBS won the prize for the best and most innovative application in the Bank, Finance and Retail category at the Cartes & IT Security 2004, in Paris.

The prize was for the development of PSAM (Payment Secure Application Module), which is a small application module, which performs secure checking and approval of chip-based cards in terminal solutions. PSAM is responsible for validating individual cards used in chip-based terminals and can function as a common standard in international terminal solutions, in the same way as SIM cards in mobile phones, which define the service provider in use. This makes the terminal much more flexible at a time of growing international competition if a business wishes to change its clearing bank. PBS offers PSAM for all types of Flex terminals currently in Danish stores. Information on the roll-out of the PSAM application can be found at under Cartes conference on the homepage.
