Prior to his current position, Mr. Fantin was a strategy and project development consultant for several international groups such as Telecom Development, the Tonna Group and the Medco Group. Mr. Fantins business management, manufacturing and engineering career spans over 20 years in the industrial and telecom sector in France, Japan, Korea, and the U.S.A. In Asia Pacific, Gemplus has several manufacturing and personalization facilities - in Tianjin, Zhuhai, Melbourne, Tokyo, Malaysia and Singapore. Singapore is one of Gemplus major manufacturing hubs. Located at Ayer Rajah Crescent, - The clean room produces 80% of the companys high value microprocessor modules for its global smart card embedding plants. This is an average production capacity of 37 million units per month. - With a production capacity of 13 million units per month, Gemplus was the first in South East Asia to be certified to manufacture and personalize EMV smart cards for Visa and MasterCard International. - The manufacturing plant for telecom produces 100 million units of scratch cards and 50 million units of SIM cards per year.
