MULTOS Opens Its Doors to New Members

The MULTOS Consortium has widen its membership with the off-card tier, that includes organisations representing card personalisation and infrastructure.This new tier will allow the Consortium to garner new members technical and business experience, which will contribute to the continued improvement and development of the MULTOS operating system. The new Systems members are able to input into the Business Advisory Group (BAG) which determines process improvements and responses to vertical market smart card needs. In addition they have implementation rights to the new MULTOS off-card specification. Membership cost is £10k per annum. In addition to sole rights to implementing the MULTOS specification, full members can input to the Consortium?s two working groups; the Technical Architecture Group (TAG) which develops the MULTOS specification, and the BAG. Moreover, full MULTOS members are being given new implementation rights for the open, smart card platform. Alliance members will now be able to upgrade to MULTOS? new on card and off-card implementation licence for an additional GBP 30k per annum. This licence allows products based on the new specification to be developed on a suitable silicon platform and resold as approved by MAOSCO, MULTOS? legal entity. Alliance members can input into the TAG and BAG working groups.
