Malta-based digital payments app Moneybase has announced it gives away 5,000 free cards, as a response to the positive feedback it received after its first week from launching its mobile app.

The company also states that it will roll out person-to-person payments to all users in the upcoming days. Moneybase users can opt for instant payments to another person using the app through their phone’s contacts list and enabled SEPA payments in 34 European countries.

Moneybase differentiate itself from other similar apps through competitive currency rates and multi-currency capabilities. Its card can be used to make contactless payments and withdrawals from ATMs worldwide with the help of Mastercard’s global network. Moreover, users can instantly create a virtual card which can be used to safely pay online, benefiting from the 3DS2 technology to fight fraud.

The digital payments platform offers three options for users to top up their accounts – through a SEPA direct debit deposit or via their debit or credit cards. Additional benefits of joining the  Moneybase platform include investment features and 24/7 convenient customer care service.
